Multi-disciplinary treatment conferences
A special element of the integrative oncology concept is the multi-professional treatment conference. There, a team of reference caregivers, ward and reference physicians, senior physicians, palliative physicians, psycho-oncologists, music, art and respiratory therapists as well as representatives of physiotherapy, massage and eurythmy therapy, nutrition therapy and social work, draw up an individual recommendation for complementary or additive therapies.
The participants in the conference try to understand the patient's individual abilities to cope with the disease, self-regulation, resilience and shaping the disease and to translate these into a specific therapy package tailored to the patient's personal needs. The clinician's reflective judgement is systematically widened here.
