Gynaecology

To the contacts

In our Gynaecology department, we treat all symptoms caused by benign as well as malignant diseases of the internal and external female reproductive organs, the peritoneum and the breast. We are particularly specialised in the treatment of gynaecological cancers and of both the female and male breast.

Malignant gynaecological diseases can affect the uterus, cervix, ovaries, fallopian tubes, peritoneum, vagina and vulva. After a comprehensive diagnosis, we create your individual treatment plan together with you. The therapy concept incorporates our high level of expertise in micro-invasive (laparoscopy, cystoscopy, rectoscopy) as well as open, if necessary radical and multi-visceral surgical procedures. The planning and implementation of your treatment plan is always interdisciplinary.

  • BENIGN GYNAECOLOGICAL CONDITIONS

Endometriosis, which can lead to severe impairments, is also a benign disease. It is a special disease that should be treated with a high level of interdisciplinary and inter-professional expertise, all of which is available at our hospital. In addition to a detailed history and special physical examination, we offer recommendations for medical or also high-quality surgical therapy. Organ-preserving, minimally invasive surgical techniques are at the forefront of the treatment concept. Drug therapy can be carried out with hormones, but also with approaches from complementary medicine. There are also therapy approaches involving mindfulness and behavioural therapy (relaxation, etc.), body-orientated (physiotherapy, nutrition, etc.) or physical (heat, cold, etc.) therapy approaches.

Other benign conditions include myomas of the uterus and diseases of the ovaries (such as cysts) and the fallopian tubes, which are treated in a minimally invasive and organ-preserving way wherever possible. Benign changes can also occur on the labia and vagina, which are treated in a way that is gentle on the tissue. We also carry out diagnostic procedures for those who wish to have children (uterine and abdominal endoscopy with examination of the patency of the fallopian tubes), as well as minimally invasive restoration of fertility surgery after severing of the fallopian tubes, if desired.

Weakness of the pelvic floor, which can be manifested by a prolapse and/or disturbances of continence, is diagnosed and treated in a specialised manner in our continence and pelvic floor centre, which is certified by the German Continence Society. In addition to conservative therapy with medication, aids (vaginal pessary, continence tampon, etc.), pelvic floor stimulation and biofeedback, we also offer surgical treatment. Conventional surgical methods are the main focus, but we also offer tape (TVT) and mesh-assisted vaginal and laparoscopic procedures. If possible, we recommend preserving the uterus.

Our therapeutic recommendations are always based on an integrative overall concept. For us, this means combining conventional medical procedures with integrative therapies that energise your self-healing powers and improve your quality of life. These include naturopathic anthroposophic medicines, art, body and movement therapies as well as complementary applications of anthroposophic care (link to Anthroposophic medicine). Other important components are nutritional, socio-medical and psychological counselling. Any surgical interventions required are carried out as minimally invasively (keyhole surgery) and gently as possible according to the latest technical standards. We always strive to preserve the organs in such procedures. In the case of malignant diseases, it may be necessary to proceed with radical surgery. We are also experts in this form of treatment.

It is particularly important for us to advise and support you. We will therefore discuss with you which therapies are best suited to your personal situation and what you can continue to do actively for your recovery after your inpatient stay.
